Job Description
CK Group are recruiting for a Quality Technician, to join an ingredients and additives manufacturing company, based in West Essex, on a full time, permanent basis, for a salary of £30,000 – £35,000, dependent on experience.
Location:
The Quality Technician will be based at the company's manufacturing site in Braintree, but would also need to travel regularly to Epping (Head office/laboratory). Braintree and Epping would be easily commutable by car from Colchester, Bishop's Stortford, Saffron Walden and surrounding areas.
The Company:
Our client is a manufacturer of ingredients that are supplied to the food, industrial, personal care, processing and pharmaceutical industries. They hold a number of accreditations including BRC, Kosher, Halal, RSPO and more.
Quality Technician Role:
Your main duties will be:
- Performing QC tests and methods, as well as procedures in line with BRC and FSSC 22000 and equipment calibrations.
- Maintaining documentation and providing support on audit certificates/reports, as well as BRCGS compliance.
- Communicating compliance information from UK trade association communications.
- Supporting Head of Technical and NPD/Food Safety Manager to prepare documentation for customers.
- Promoting a culture of high hygiene standards and good working practice, maintained by the whole team.
- Supporting lab duties at the Epping site – this will require travelling regularly to Epping via car.
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience of the Food Industry, preferably in Food Ingredients.
- Degree in a Packaging or Food Science related subject.
- Familiarity with BRCGS procedures and auditing, preferably also FSSC 22000 and various sustainability audits and validation.
- Happy to work with food allergens including raw meat, dairy, raw fish, etc.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
