Talentmark are recruiting for a Process Team Leader to join a materials manufacturing company, at their site based in Oldbury, on a permanent basis. This is a shift based role. The hours are 7am to 7pm, with a pattern of two days, two nights, then six days off.
Salary: This role offers a salary of £73,000, inclusive of shift allowance.
The Company: Our client is a materials manufacturer specialising in manufacturing and development of advanced composite materials for aerospace applications. This role is located in Oldbury.
Process Operator Role: To lead the efficient operation of Fine Chemicals & Innovation Unit processes. Organise the shift to safely run new and existing chemical processes, closely following detailed instructions, and troubleshooting issues as they occur. Materials handling using Fork Lift Truck, lifting aids and manual handling. Plant process monitoring including sampling and analysis as appropriate. Monitoring of product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. Compile and interpret results of tests and analysis.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- You should have a PhD or Degree in Chemistry or suitable science subjects.
- A high level of understanding of reaction chemistry and safety is essential.
- Experience in process development, chemical manufacture or R&D would be extremely beneficial in this role.
- You must be thorough, accurate and self-motivated.
- You should be comfortable leading a team, and proactively work alone as required.
- You should be capable of, or willing to learn how to wear respiratory protective equipment and to drive a Fork Lift Truck.
- Previous experience would be beneficial, however full training will be given if required for a successful candidate.
- Appreciation of the risks associated with the handling of hazardous chemicals, conducting chemical processes at plant scale.
- Commitment to work the required shift pattern.
