CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a Fine Chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in Newmarket on a full time, permanent basis.
Location: The Technical Manager will be based at the company's site in Newmarket, easily commutable from Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Saffron Walden and Royston.
Technical Manager Role: Your main duties will be:
- Leading Safety and ensuring departmental HSE compliance
- Leading daily Operational Planning for Production and Development teams
- Supporting and training departmental employees
- Quality and Data analysis for full compliance
- Driving site-wide efficiencies and continual improvement
- Technical Troubleshooting
- Senior Representation under the Site Director
Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree, alternatively at least 5 years' experience within Fine Chemical/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (ideally MSc/PhD)
- Proven Operations Leadership experience within Chemical/Pharmaceutical sectors
- Demonstrable track record of troubleshooting/problem-solving in Laboratories or Production
- Prior experience in people-facing leadership roles (Team Leader/Senior Management)
- Understanding of Six Sigma or similar methodologies
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (QHSE) Management Systems
- Analytical proficiency - GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF and other QC testing methodologies - ideal
- Project Management experience - ideal
- Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
