CK Group are recruiting for a Technologist, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Wigan, on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company: Our client strives to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Technologist, and are offering a competitive salary from £40,000 depending on experience.

Location: The Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.

Your main duties will be:

  • Carrying out practical and theoretical work as required.
  • Providing urgent technical support to production - this may involve travel at short notice.
  • Interacting with other functions, e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence, Sustainability.
  • Reporting to the Team Leader in Flat Glass manufacturing.

Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • 5 years' practical and theoretical experience in a Material-related field, preferably glass forming/annealing.
  • Project management experience - desirable.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
