CK Group are recruiting for an Analytical Scientist on behalf of a growing drug development partner. The company is an expert service provider to the chemical research, development and manufacturing industries, specialising in process research and development for manufacturing drug substance and other high value materials. With support, this role will act as Analytical Lead on customer projects. This role will be based in Cardiff, on a permanent basis. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a MSc / PhD in Analytical Chemistry (or similar) plus suitable industrial experience in large pharma or an R&D Analytical team. Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Analytical Team Leader, your responsibilities will include: With support, acting as the Analytical Lead on customer projects, taking personal responsibility for the quality, integrity, communication, and delivery of science on your projects. Development and validation of analytical methods for small molecule intermediates, API and drug products (such as LC/GC) and novel solutions that meet our customer expectations and timelines Analytical problem solving and instrument troubleshooting working as one team Application of digital tools and approaches to deliver fast and efficient process understanding for our clients Strong safety standards in the laboratory in own work and compliance of team with safety principles, acts as a role model Your Background: BSc in Chemistry (or related subject) PhD advantageous Experience in analytical science with expertise in a field applied to the development of pharmaceutical products or related chemical industries. Proven ability to develop scientifically sound and robust methods of analysis using HPLC, GC and other related techniques, Experience in writing clear reports from complex analytical data, drawing clear conclusions and the ability to communicate in technical language Experience in one or more common chromatographic data systems from Agilent, Waters, Thermo, Shimadzu and others An appreciation of, or expertise in, synthetic chemistry, physical organic, and/or catalysis would be advantageous Well-developed data management and visualisation skills Good knowledge of applicable standards and an understanding of HSSE Compensation: £30,000 – £40,000 base salary + 25 days holidays, increasing with service, + 2 volunteering days + private healthcare + pension scheme + life cover + other company benefits.
