We are currently looking for an experienced Barbering Lecturer to join a further education setting on a long-term basis.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced barber and educator looking for a stable, long-term teaching position, helping learners develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress within the industry.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging theory and practical barbering sessions, supporting learners throughout their programme and helping them achieve their qualifications.
Your responsibilities will include
- Delivering engaging barbering theory and practical sessions.
- Supporting learners across relevant barbering qualifications and levels.
- Planning and preparing lessons, practical activities and learning materials.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Demonstrating professional barbering techniques and industry standards.
- Supporting learners with their practical development and confidence.
- Maintaining a positive, professional and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessment and learner progress.
- Supporting learners with progression into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
- Ensuring practical activities are carried out safely and professionally.
About You
We are looking for someone with
- Proven teaching or training experience within an education or training environment.
- Strong professional experience within barbering.
- A relevant barbering qualification.
- Strong practical knowledge of current barbering techniques and industry standards.
- The ability to engage and communicate effectively with learners.
- A patient, supportive and professional approach.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in helping learners develop their skills and progress within the industry.
A recognised teaching qualification would be advantageous.
Safeguarding & Compliance
As the role involves working with learners, successful candidates will be required to complete the relevant safeguarding and compliance checks.
