A leading specialist contractor within the stone, tiling and interiors sector is looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a key role within the business, working from initial enquiry and tender stage through to project handover.

You’ll be responsible for developing tenders, coordinating with clients and design teams, assessing project requirements and ensuring packages are commercially and technically deliverable.

The Role

  • Managing projects through the pre-construction and tender stages.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and scope of works.
  • Preparing and coordinating tenders for stone and tiling packages.
  • Working with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Carrying out take-offs, reviewing quantities and assessing labour and material requirements.
  • Identifying technical, commercial and programme risks at tender stage.
  • Liaising with clients, architects, designers, main contractors and suppliers.
  • Supporting value engineering and alternative material proposals where appropriate.
  • Ensuring projects are properly developed and commercially viable before moving into delivery.
  • Working closely with the contracts and project teams to ensure a smooth handover from pre-construction into delivery.

About You

Previous stone and tiling experience is mandatory.

We’re looking for someone who understands the specialist finishes market and has a strong appreciation of the technical and commercial requirements involved in delivering stone and tiling packages.

Ideally, you will have

  • Previous experience in pre-construction, estimating, quantity surveying or commercial management.
  • Strong experience within stone, tiling or specialist finishes.
  • Good understanding of natural stone, marble, ceramic and porcelain products.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with take-offs, pricing, procurement and tendering.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, suppliers and project teams.
  • Experience working within high-end interiors, fit-out or specialist contracting would be advantageous.
