CJS are seeking capable Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to join an established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor. The company specialises in delivering fast-paced M&E fit-out projects within the commercial sector, primarily across London, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Typical projects range from £3m – £12m in value, delivered over 6–9 month programmes. A £12m M&E fit-out project currently on site (and growing) is underway on a 7-month programme, and the company expects its projects to increase in scale and duration as it moves into the next financial year.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the commercial delivery of M&E fit-out projects
  • Preparing cost reports, forecasts and valuations
  • Subcontract procurement and package management
  • Managing variations, change control and final accounts
  • Ensuring cost control across fast-track projects
  • Liaising with project managers, subcontractors and clients

  • Typical project value: typically £3m – £12m
  • Programme duration: typically 6–9 months
  • Sector: Commercial M&E / Office fit-out
  • Current live project: £12m M&E fit-out (7-month programme)

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven experience delivering M&E / building services fit-out projects
  • Ability to commercially run fast-paced projects in the £3m–£12m range
  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management
  • White CSCS Card (Professionally Qualified Person)
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes, subcontract management and cost reporting
