An Exciting New Service in Great Cornard, Sudbury Suffolk: Driver Required. We have launched a new supported living service in Sudbury. This is a rare opportunity to join a new team to work with a variety of different people we support.
What You’ll Do: As part of the support team, your responsibilities will include:
- Building trusting, respectful relationships.
- Assisting with daily routines, personal care, and community access.
- Encouraging interests and introducing new activities.
- Working with colleagues and PBS leads to reduce behaviours of concern.
- Providing consistent, structured support to build J’s independence over time.
What We’re Looking For: We welcome applicants with a strong sense of compassion, reliability, and the ability to stay calm and positive even in challenging situations. Ideally, you will:
- Have experience in the care/support sector.
- Understand or have worked with individuals with complex needs or behaviours that challenge.
- Be patient, proactive, and pragmatic.
- Work well as part of a close-knit team.
- Be consistent and dependable—stability.
- Hold a full UK driving licence – J has his own vehicle, and every shift requires at least one driver.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour and learning disabilities.
(We can consider some non-drivers, especially for night shifts, but availability is limited.)
Available Shifts & Work Patterns: We’re recruiting for both day and waking night roles, with the following shift patterns:
- Day shifts/Sleeping Nights: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Part-time work available (typically 1–3 shifts per week). We cannot offer split shifts due to the structure and consistency needed for J.
- Waking Nights - 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
