Rated Outstanding by the CQC, we’re proud of our strong values, exceptional staff retention, and commitment to empowering the people we support to live fulfilling, independent lives. We’re now recruiting a Team Leader to join our growing team, inspiring, guiding, and developing dedicated support workers to provide high-quality care in supported living and community-based settings.

About the Role

As a Team Leader with CJP, you’ll be responsible for both the day-to-day delivery of support and the operational leadership of your team. This role combines hands-on support work with leadership duties to ensure that every individual we support receives consistent, person-centred, and high-quality care. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager, PBS Specialists, and Clinical Leads to ensure care plans are up-to-date, risks are well-managed, and staff are trained and confident in supporting individuals safely and respectfully. Your leadership will be key to fostering a positive, empowering environment where both the people we support and the teams who care for them can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
  • Ensure the people we support are at the heart of everything we do, promoting independence, inclusion, and personal growth.
  • Implement and review Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans to enhance quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.
  • Coordinate and manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings to maintain engagement and performance.
  • Support with new staff inductions and on-the-job mentoring.
  • Complete and maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, and daily records in line with CQC and company standards.
  • Oversee medication management, finance auditing, and health & safety checks within the service.
  • Actively contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with families, social workers, and other external professionals.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, sleep-ins, and occasional weekend shifts as part of a flexible leadership approach.

About You

You’ll be a natural leader, calm, confident, and compassionate - with a passion for helping others reach their potential. You’ll bring professional experience and emotional intelligence, balancing empathy with strong boundaries and clear communication.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Previous experience in a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader role within social care.
  • Strong understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs (e.g. bipolar disorder, psychosis).
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or a willingness to be trained.
  • Experience in coordinating rotas, mentoring staff, and managing day-to-day service operations.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
