Duties

We’re excited to invite experienced, compassionate, and skilled clinicians to join our team on a flexible, freelance basis to perform autism assessments remotely through a secure video platform. In this role, you\'ll conduct structured assessments and help create clear diagnostic reports that support patients and their families. The ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) involves a one-hour assessment with scoring, followed by a brief report of 1–2 pages indicating whether the patient is above or below the diagnostic cutoff. Both the report and scoring should be completed within 48 hours to ensure a smooth transition to the ADI-R clinician. The ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised) includes a 1–1.5 hour structured interview, with a 1–2 page report covering DSM-5 criteria. Reports are expected within 5–8 working days. Prior to their appointment, all patients will complete a detailed pre-assessment questionnaire and an informant questionnaire. To help maintain consistency, suggested report templates are provided.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with 6–12 months of experience in conducting autism assessments. A Consultant Psychiatrist is preferred for ADI-R assessments. Experience working with both CAMHS and Adults from the children (8+) ADS/ADD and adults for ADHD would be ideal for 6-65 age groups, such as a Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Speech and Language therapist, occupational therapist, prescriber nurse registered HCPC, passionate about neurodiversity and dedicated to promoting holistic developmental well-being.

It’s important that you hold the appropriate indemnity insurance. We also ask that you can provide a redacted sample report (ADOS or ADI-R) as part of your application. The role requires the ability to work independently and without supervision, preferably through a limited company. Attention to detail and timely report writing are essential. We offer flexible availability, including evenings and weekends if needed. Compensation is based on experience, with rates of £150–£200 per case for ADOS and £250–£330 per case for ADI-R. We look forward to hearing from you!” ,

What We Offer

Flexible working hours – ideal alongside existing commitments. Remote working from anywhere via secure video platform. Pre-prepared patient information (questionnaires and informant reports). Structured report templates to support new starters. Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to autism assessments in both children and adults.

To Apply

Please send your CV, confirmation of indemnity cover, and a redacted example report (ADOS or ADI-R).
