Company Description

CJH Experts delivers specialist expert witness and strategic consulting services to participants across the international commodities markets. Founded by Catherine Jago after more than three decades as a recognised expert in oil and commodity trading, the firm supports leading law firms, arbitral tribunals and trading houses in high‑value disputes and complex transactions.

Our work spans expert witness testimony, litigation support, arbitration and mediation, expert determination and tailored consultancy projects. Typical assignments involve valuation and pricing, physical and paper trading, shipping and logistics, risk management, hedging and procurement.

Drawing on deep industry experience and a track record in some of the most challenging commodities cases, CJH Experts brings rigorous analysis and clear, grounded opinion to complex commercial disputes and risk issues worldwide.

Role Description

CJH Experts is looking to connect with recently retired (or soon‑to‑retire) commodity traders, brokers and operators who would enjoy part‑time expert witness and consulting work. The work is mainly remote and project‑based, with occasional client meetings, conferences with counsel and, in some cases, hearings or arbitrations. It’s a way to stay close to the market, use decades of hard‑won experience and choose when – and how much – you work.

If you have deep experience across physical and paper markets, structuring deals, managing risk and navigating the messier corners of trading relationships – and you can explain all of that clearly to non‑traders – we’d be very happy to talk.

Feel free to message me directly or tag someone who might be interested.
