CJB Scaffolding is a well-established scaffolding company based in Beccles, Suffolk, delivering safe, reliable access solutions across the commercial, industrial, and domestic sectors. As our business grows, we're looking for a capable Contracts Manager to own our projects from enquiry through to completion.
The role involves driving the successful delivery of our scaffolding contracts. Working closely with our senior leadership team, site teams, and clients, you'll manage projects to ensure every job is delivered safely, on time, on spec, and on budget. This varied role suits someone who thrives on responsibility and enjoys building lasting client relationships.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing multiple scaffolding contracts simultaneously, from initial enquiry and site survey through to design sign-off, installation, and dismantling.
- Producing accurate quotations, estimates, and tenders, and negotiating contracts with clients.
- Planning labour, materials, transport, and plant to keep projects running efficiently.
- Liaising with clients, main contractors, and site managers to build strong working relationships and win repeat business.
- Carrying out site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
- Championing health and safety at every stage, ensuring all work meets TG20/TG30, SG4, and relevant legislative and industry standards.
- Overseeing risk assessments, method statements, and scaffold design documentation.
- Managing project budgets, variations, and invoicing, and reporting on performance to the directors.
- Supporting, coordinating, and developing site supervisors and scaffolding teams.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Contracts Supervisor, or similar within scaffolding or a related construction/access trade.
- Strong working knowledge of scaffolding systems, methods, and industry standards (TG20/TG30, SG4).
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder or a recognised scaffolding/management qualification (desirable), with a relevant CSCS card.
- Solid commercial awareness with the ability to estimate, quote, and manage budgets confidently.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
