Join the CIWEM Board as a Trustee. Are you passionate about the environment and eager to make a difference? CIWEM is seeking a dynamic individual with accountancy experience to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of environmental competency worldwide.
About Us: CIWEM (Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) is a leading professional membership organisation dedicated to supporting environmental professionals in government, business, academia, and charity sectors. With over 11,000 members, we are committed to tackling climate change and promoting sustainable solutions through events, training, publications, and policy work.
The Role: We invite applications for two co-opted Trustee positions on our Board. Trustees play a crucial role in governance, strategic development, and custodianship, working closely with our Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team. You will help set the long-term vision, oversee financial health, and ensure compliance with our legal and constitutional frameworks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for environmental issues
- Understanding and willingness to serve as a non-executive director in a voluntary capacity.
- Experienced Accountant, with experience leading commercial financial decisions
- Articulate, prepared to challenge assumptions, and capable of informed decision-making for the benefit of CIWEM and its members.
Commitment: Up to 6 board meetings annually (in-person in London or the Midlands and online). A full-day strategy review meeting in person. Potential chairing of a committee. Attendance at key CIWEM events and active engagement in communications and discussions.
