Are you an organised and customer-focused administrator looking for a rewarding role?
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) is seeking a Membership Officer to join our dedicated Membership and Professional Standards Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of our institution's success, supporting professionals on their journey with us.
About the Role
As a Membership Officer, you will be a key player in our membership activities. You will be the first point of contact for queries about CIWEM membership and professional registration with bodies like the Engineering Council and Society for the Environment. Your day-to-day will involve processing applications, providing clear and accurate advice, and ensuring every interaction reflects our high standards of service.
You will play a vital role in supporting our members' professional development, from administering applications for our non-Chartered members to assisting with our annual CPD audits and professional review interviews. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of our membership and the success of our Early Careers Network.
What You'll Do:
- Manage membership and registration applications, providing professional and friendly guidance.
- Administer registrations with key professional bodies (Engineering Council, Science Council, SocEnv).
- Support our promotional activities to attract new members and encourage professional registration.
- Maintain accurate member records in our CRM system and help improve our processes.
- Collaborate with the wider team to support our Membership Strategy and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Provide administrative support for committees, member audits, and training events.
About You
We're looking for someone with a friendly, supportive, and collaborative approach. You thrive in a busy environment, using your excellent planning and prioritisation skills to manage your workload effectively.
Weβd love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven administrative experience in a busy office, coupled with outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience working with CRM systems.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn.
Experience in a professional body or an interest in environmental issues would be a plus, but it's not essential.
Why Join Us?
This is more than just an admin role. You will be central to the success of our institution, supporting a community dedicated to protecting and improving the environment. You will work closely with a supportive team, including the Head of Membership Services and the Director of Membership and Professional Standards.
If you are looking for a role where your skills can make a real impact, we encourage you to apply.
