CIWEM is looking for a dynamic Membership Marketing Manager to join our team and champion our global network of 11,500 water and environmental experts. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you’ll take the lead on attracting new members, enhancing engagement, and nurturing loyalty within our community. This role involves crafting compelling content, developing strategic campaigns, conducting market research, and providing valuable insights to drive growth and advocacy. As CIWEM's brand guardian, you’ll ensure our identity and values shine through in every aspect of our communications. You’ll also provide strategic marketing support to our 12 UK branches, collaborating closely with the marcomms team to achieve impactful results. Main duties and responsibilities

  • Membership Retention and Recruitment: Support membership recruitment and retention strategies. Build member relationships to aid projects like case studies, testimonials, and content creation.
  • Audience Segmentation and Data Analysis: Use CRM for audience segmentation, persona development, and content mapping. Analyse member data to enhance content relevancy and determine member lifetime value.
  • Marketing Analytics and Campaigns: Track acquisition, retention, and engagement metrics to optimise campaigns. Create and manage segmented campaigns personalised to members’ professional backgrounds.
  • Project Management: Produce marketing materials focused on loyalty, growth, and professional development. Oversee communications related to member onboarding, training, and recognition programmes.
  • Content Strategy and Development: Identify and utilise user-generated content, case studies, and testimonials. Drive engagement by strategically deploying this content across platforms.
  • Industry Engagement and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated with industry trends by attending conferences and webinars, sharing insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • General Contribution: Undertake broader tasks as needed to support team objectives and adapt to business requirements.

Person Specifications

  • Proven experience in membership recruitment, retention, or running multi-channel marketing campaigns, including planning, implementation, and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and copywriting skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Ability to use insights, analytics, and data to inform marketing strategies, enhance brand visibility, and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of independently managing multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and solving problems proactively.
