International Opportunity - Quantity Surveyors

Quantity surveyors at all levels wanted in Perth, Australia. Subcontracts, payment claims, variations. Visa and relocation fully covered.

Location: Henderson, Perth, Western Australia — on site, not remote

Contract: Permanent, full time

Levels: Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager

Experience: From 3 years through to 10+ years

Visa: Employer-sponsored skilled visa. Civmec covers nomination and application costs for you, your partner and your dependent children.

Relocation: One-way flights, two weeks' accommodation on arrival, and a relocation allowance.

About Civmec: Civmec is an integrated, multi-disciplinary heavy engineering and construction provider serving the metals and minerals, oil and gas, infrastructure, and marine and defence markets. Our work is self-performed and delivered in-house rather than subcontracted out.

The opportunity: We have secured a portfolio of new projects and are building out our project commercial teams. We are hiring across the full range of experience — from quantity surveyors with a few years of post-contract administration behind them, through to commercial managers ready to lead a project commercial function.

The three levels we're hiring:

• Quantity Surveyor — 3+ years: Supporting the project commercial team, with a strong focus on administering existing subcontracts.
• Senior Quantity Surveyor — 6+ years: Running the commercial administration of your own subcontract packages end to end.
• Commercial Manager — 10+ years: Leading the commercial function on a major project.

What the work involves Common to every level:

• Subcontract administration — administering existing subcontracts across their lifecycle.
• Payment and progress claims — preparing, assessing and certifying claims.
• Variations and change management — identifying, pricing, negotiating and closing out variations.
• Contractual correspondence — drafting notices, determinations and responses to claims.
• Delay and extension of time claims — preparing or assessing claims and advising on entitlement.
• Commercial records — maintaining registers and documentation to an audit-ready standard.

About you:

• Essential at every level: A minimum of 3 years in contract administration, with genuine subcontract administration experience.
• Confident with progress claims, variations and contractual correspondence.
• Strong, clear written and verbal communication.
• Competent with Excel, Word and Outlook.

Valued but not essential:

• A tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, commercial or law.
• MRICS or equivalent chartership, or working towards it.
• Experience of medium to large-scale heavy engineering or construction.
• Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, JCT or comparable standard forms.
• Defence project experience is highly regarded but not required.
• Experience on Western Australian FIFO or DIDO projects is desirable.
