Civitas Charity Recruitment are delighted to support a fantastic UK charity in the recruitment of a dynamic and visionary Director of Campaigns and Communications. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping high-profile, high-impact campaigns and building strategic narratives that challenge corporate behaviour and activate investor influence.
The organisation is an independent UK-registered charity working to build a financial system that serves people and the planet. They are experts in responsible investment, harnessing the influence of investors, pension funds and civil society to improve corporate behaviour on environmental, social and governance issues — from climate change and health to worker rights and corporate accountability. Through research, rankings, investor engagement, coalition-building and public campaigns, the charity challenges harmful practices and drives systemic change in the global financial system.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for campaigns, communications and civil society engagement
- Lead integrated advocacy and public campaigns that elevate the charity's voice
- Oversee media outreach, digital strategy and storytelling across channels
- Build and nurture partnerships with investors, civil society, policy makers and funders
- Represent the charity externally, including at high-level events and in the press
- Align campaign goals with organisational priorities and funding strategy
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned communications and campaigns leader with a proven record of delivering high-impact advocacy and narrative strategy. You will bring:
- Substantial experience leading complex campaigns or communications at senior level
- Excellent strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate them compellingly across audiences
