The Opportunity
Civitas Charity Recruitment are delighted to be working with a UK-based Muslim charity who are seeking a Head of Marketing to grow brand awareness, strengthen donor engagement and lead impactful, culturally aware storytelling. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Fundraising, you will lead a small team across social media, content/creative and communications, delivering integrated campaigns and a strong digital presence that positions the organisation at the heart of the conversation on social justice and economic empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a marketing strategy that builds reach, relevance and supporter trust, aligned to organisational goals.
- Lead brand positioning and multi-channel content (email/newsletters, podcasts/video, thought leadership and donor materials).
- Oversee social media and digital channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube) to grow engagement and community.
- Plan and deliver integrated campaigns for key moments (including Ramadan), working closely with fundraising and programme teams.
- Line manage a small team (c.3–4) and coordinate external suppliers/agencies to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Monitor performance and optimise using data and insights, including SEO, website performance and channel analytics.
- Manage budgets and report on KPIs (traffic, engagement, donor acquisition, brand recognition).
The Candidate
- Senior marketing experience with responsibility for strategy, campaigns and brand across digital channels.
- Proven track record in content leadership and storytelling, with strong copy, editing and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident people manager who can coach a small team and deliver at pace in a collaborative environment.
- Data-informed approach: comfortable with analytics, KPIs, optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of inclusive, culturally aware communications and values-led marketing.
- Desirable: experience in charity/faith-based or social impact organisations; experience building audiences and supporter journeys.
