The organisation Civitas Charity Recruitment are excited to be working with a great UK charity which looks to distribute Zakat transformatively within the UK. As the only nationwide organisation focused on local Zakat collection and distribution, the charity is empowering communities and building a fairer society. With over a decade of service, the charity ensures that every pound of Zakat supports people in need while connecting givers and recipients in a shared mission.

This is a pivotal time to join the charity. We are looking for a strategic and operational HR leader to strengthen the people and culture function. You will lead on developing and implementing a progressive HR strategy, embedding best practice across all areas – from employee relations and L&D to compliance and performance management – while fostering a values-led, faith-aligned and high-performing culture. 1 day a week in the London office.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Lead on HR strategy, people policies, and workforce planning
  • Manage recruitment, L&D, performance, and payroll operations
  • Embed inclusive and Islamic values-driven people practices
  • Champion staff engagement, wellbeing and safeguarding culture
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, HR systems and governance

The Candidate

We are seeking a CIPD-qualified professional with significant senior-level HR leadership experience. You will bring:

  • Experience in a charity or values-based organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Proven ability to deliver HR strategies that drive performance and culture
  • A collaborative, strategic mindset with high emotional intelligence
  • A deep understanding of inclusive, faith-aligned HR practices
