Reporting to the Civils & Lintels Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager leads a team and works closely with key Group stakeholders across areas including digital platform development, stock and range management, project delivery, supply chain and pricing and post-invoice margin support. The role is focused on enhancing and simplifying the colleague experience by modernising systems, streamlining processes and policies, and delivering clear, effective support to drive engagement, performance and, above all, exceptional customer service.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and support a team of specialists, helping them grow and perform at their best
  • Drive continuous improvement across all areas, always looking for smarter, simpler ways of working
  • Bring teams together and streamline processes to make day‑to‑day operations more efficient
  • Take the lead on digital strategy, keeping momentum high and exploring new opportunities including AI
  • Spot and deliver new business opportunities in line with senior leadership priorities
  • Keep key systems running smoothly, using tools like Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI to support decision‑making
  • Stay on top of pricing, making sure we remain competitive in the market
  • Manage key projects and annual cycles (e.g. year‑end, reward, system updates), keeping everything on track and within budget
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, working closely with Group Supply Chain to meet evolving digital expectations
  • Champion simplicity – cutting through complexity in processes, policies and ways of working to improve how we operate

What You'll Bring

You'll bring solid experience leading and developing teams, with a natural ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders. With a background in complex, multi‑site organisations, you're comfortable working across shared services and have a good understanding of areas like employee relations and payroll. You're confident using data, managing policies and processes, and handling the detail that keeps things running smoothly. Experience working with multiple systems or integrations means you understand how to get the best out of tools and drive best practice. You stay curious and proactive – keeping up to date with trends and changes, spotting opportunities and sharing insight. Just as importantly, you build connections across the business and wider group to collaborate, share knowledge and see the bigger picture. You'll also bring at least five years' experience in a commercially focused leadership role.
