As our Team Leader (COSS), you will join our Rail Arboriculture team – operating on rail sites throughout Essex.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting requirements, effectively planning and delivering all elements of railway de-vegetation works.
  • Completing all works to high and safe standards, adhering to internal procedures and industry standards.
  • Effectively and safely supervising a small team in de-vegetation works, completing Risk Assessments and Team Briefings.
  • Responding sensitively and appropriately to queries from lineside residents.
  • Observing and following all applicable safe methods of working, and health, safety and environmental rules/procedures.
  • Reporting any incidents or Close Calls immediately to the appropriate person.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working in vegetation clearance (within the Railway sector/environment).
  • Competencies including PTS, COSS, SITE WARDEN.
  • Understanding of leading/coaching/mentoring and developing a team.
  • Confident working with various tools and possessing a good working knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A natural ability to build good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Methodical approach to problem‑solving with excellent attention to detail.
  • Regular drugs and alcohol testing.
