As our Team Leader (COSS), you will join our Rail Arboriculture team – operating on rail sites throughout Essex.
Responsibilities
- Interpreting requirements, effectively planning and delivering all elements of railway de-vegetation works.
- Completing all works to high and safe standards, adhering to internal procedures and industry standards.
- Effectively and safely supervising a small team in de-vegetation works, completing Risk Assessments and Team Briefings.
- Responding sensitively and appropriately to queries from lineside residents.
- Observing and following all applicable safe methods of working, and health, safety and environmental rules/procedures.
- Reporting any incidents or Close Calls immediately to the appropriate person.
Qualifications
- Recent experience working in vegetation clearance (within the Railway sector/environment).
- Competencies including PTS, COSS, SITE WARDEN.
- Understanding of leading/coaching/mentoring and developing a team.
- Confident working with various tools and possessing a good working knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Proactive, self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A natural ability to build good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Methodical approach to problem‑solving with excellent attention to detail.
- Regular drugs and alcohol testing.
