Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future. Process Architect Lead Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C.
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. The project will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years, and this role will be within the CWA Wide Section.
What will you do?
The Process Architecture Lead is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously improving the Civil Works Alliance's end‑to‑end process architecture framework within the Integrated Management System (IMS). The role ensures that business processes across the Alliance are clearly defined, standardised, integrated, well‑structured in folders, and aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the CWA Process Architecture and Process Framework within the IMS:
- Maintain and improve the process hierarchy, process maps, value streams, and process repository.
- Establish clear process ownership structures and accountability across the Alliance.
- Ensure alignment between business processes, organisational objectives, and contractual requirements.
- Implement process automation opportunities across the functions to improve efficiency.
- Lead the IMS platform improvement programme, assessing the suitability of the current platform, identifying integration requirements with site‑based tools and business systems, and recommending enhancements or alternate solutions to deliver an optimised digital management system.
- Develop and embed process management capability across the Alliance:
- Provide coaching and guidance to process owners and function leads on process digitalisation and automation to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Foster a process‑led culture that promotes accountability and improves document management and maintenance.
- Support audits, including external ISO certification audits, by demonstrating robust process architecture, governance, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the Continuous Improvement Team to identify opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience.
- Present process strategies, maturity assessments, and improvement roadmaps to senior leadership.

Essential
- Significant experience in Process Architecture, Business Process Management (BPM), or Operational Excellence roles.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise‑wide process frameworks.
- Strong understanding of process governance, process modelling, and end‑to‑end/value chain management.
- Experience operating within complex, regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Experience leading Management System platforms.
- Knowledge of process management tools such as Visio or similar platforms.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational change.
Desirable
- Experience within major infrastructure, construction, engineering, nuclear, or regulated industries.
- Experience developing, managing and improving large Management Systems.
- Knowledge of digital workflow, process mining, automation, and AI‑enabled process improvement.
