Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C.

Sizewell C will be a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

  • Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s GMCEs, BMS and other governance. Including SZC systems, processes, and governance
  • Orders information and systematically checks data
  • Maximises digital opportunities
  • Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
  • Critically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
  • Planning
  • Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time‑Location,
  • Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
  • Project Management
  • Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately
  • Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff
  • Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility
  • Procurement
  • Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
  • Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy
  • Commercial Management
  • Analyses rates & prices, agreements of variations and or compensation events as required
  • Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility
  • Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
  • Prepares internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation
  • Development, Recruitment and Retention
  • Maintains own Personal Development Plan
  • Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc)
  • Actively supports the development of others incl. professional mentoring

  • Experienced in the recruitment and development of talent within the business
  • Ability to provide feedback on team members strengths and weaknesses and support performance management

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
  • Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
