Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future Land Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

  • Working within the Enabling and Earthworks Section, this role is responsible for carrying out site surveys that support major construction and earthworks activities.
  • Produce survey deliverables to strict deadlines in accordance with the site programme.
  • Carry out on site surveys.
  • Collect survey field data, process, and issue to clients or stakeholders in the agreed formats.
  • Ensure all site-specific tolerances are met in any survey related operations.
  • Complete QA (Quality Assurance) records as required.
  • Assist in the production of as-built drawings from survey data in survey specific software.
  • Comply with hold point checks in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) procedure.
  • Formally comprise and issue results to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the safe and secure storage of all historical survey data relating to the project.
  • Attend site briefings, site inductions and Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensure that accurate site records of all survey related tasks are completed and maintained.
  • Identify hazards and raise observation cards.
  • Support delivery of sustainability activities.
  • Follow site safety briefings, including the preparation of WPP (Work Package Plan), RA (Risk Assessment), and TBS (Task Briefing Sheets).
  • Ensure the inventory of survey equipment and consumables are accurately maintained.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge & Experience

  • Essential
  • Experience and knowledge of survey equipment and instrumentation.
  • Experience and knowledge of survey and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of design interpretation, including digital formats & 3D models.
  • Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements.
  • Experience using latest survey equipment, software, and technologies.
  • Experience using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System).
  • Desirable
  • Basic understanding of design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment.
  • Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
  • Experience of survey specific software and processing applications.
  • Hold a full driving licence (able to get to site).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Essential
  • Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
  • Hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Desirable
  • A technical Member of the CinstCES (working towards full member).
