Civil Safety was established in 2002 by Managing Director Ben Edgley. Starting with just one employee, Civil Safety steadily grew from servicing confined space safety equipment locally to the sale, hiring and servicing of equipment nationwide. In 2015, we developed further and added Drainage & Industrial Cleaning to our service portfolio. We provide industrial cleaning & drainage services all over the UK from both our Ramsey and Essex locations. Due to continued growth, the company divided in October 2018 into two businesses: Civil Safety Drainage LTD and Civil Safety Training and Rescue. We pride ourselves on family values; we are a very close-knit unit of 50+ employees all working together to build a successful brand.
About The Role
- Location: Ramsey
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week, times vary and depend on work requirement. Usual hours are 06:00-16:00.
- Overtime: Readily available, paid at time and a half.
- Salary: Up to £16.50ph dependent on experience.
- 1 week in 6 on call.
The Job
As a Drainage HGV Operative, you will work as part of a team in executing a variety of tasks on the water, drainage and sewer infrastructure. Starting from our depot in Ramsey, these tasks include wet/dry well cleans, tank cleans, clearing blockages and obstructions, high pressure water jetting, operating Jet Vac suction hose, and confined space entries. This is a physical, predominantly outdoor role involving manual labour working in all weather conditions covering a large region. There is a lot of travelling to and from sites. A very keen emphasis is put on adhering to strict health and safety policies and practices. This can be a dirty job; we work in and around sewage/the sewage infrastructure on a daily basis, and we understand that isn't for everyone. A flexible, can-do approach goes a long way in this role.
Experience And Qualifications
- Full UK driving license (Required)
- HGV Class 2 Qualification (Required)
- Drainage background ideal, but not essential. We will provide FULL training; however, up to date CSCS, EUSR SHEA Water, Confined Space, Water Jetting would be beneficial.
