The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police force, responsible for the protection of civil nuclear facilities and materials whether they are on site or in transit. Counter-terrorism is a major part of our policing. Our ambition is to be recognised nationally and internationally as the leading policing organisation for the armed protection of civil nuclear material and the critical national infrastructure of the UK. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our hard-working team.
We are looking for an Occupational Health Technician to join our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team, which enable us to maintain our operational capabilities, as well as attracting, developing and retaining outstanding people who are committed to the achievement of excellence, and to the values of the organisation. In this role you will be responsible for assessing the medical and fitness suitability of CNC employees by ensuring the consistent application of policy/guidance. You will carry out annual medical and fitness assessments and pre-employment paper screening, in order to recruit and retain a fit and healthy workforce that can deliver CNC key strategic objectives. You will also be involved in supporting general health and wellbeing initiatives and projects and ensure that the medical record management system is appropriately maintained as well as supporting the OHSW Admin team.
Although this role is home based, it will involve regular travel to CNC sites, particularly in Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent. All travel is fully funded by CNC, including meal allowances where applicable.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within an Occupational Health and/or Wellbeing field is desirable, however full training will be provided
- Computer literate including experience in the use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to travel to other sites, with regular overnight stays
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours
- Ability to be security cleared at SC level
- Possession of a full UK driving licence
