Job Description:
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognized nationally and internationally as the UK’s leading organization for protective policing of the civil nuclear industry and critical national infrastructure. We recruit skilled professionals to our team due to the critical nature of our work.
Our role involves protecting national security through patrols at nuclear sites, facilities, and materials, working with local police forces, and participating in national deployments like Operation Temperer.
New officers undergo a comprehensive 19-week firearms training program, with condensed training for those already AFO/ARV trained. After a 6-month probation, opportunities to specialize in areas like Dog Handling, Firearms Instruction, or Strategic Escort are available.
We uphold high standards of professionalism, ethics, and values, aligned with the CNC Code of Ethics. Applicants must hold a full manual driving license and have passed their probation at their current or previous force.
Transferees typically retain their previous salary and leave entitlements, including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service length.
Benefits include a generous pension scheme, free parking and gyms, family-friendly policies, cycle schemes, and discounts via the Blue Light Card. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone can bring their authentic selves.
Successful applicants will undergo vetting to national standards. For more information, please review the provided vetting overview videos.
