Salary up to Β£39,929 and a Β£2,000 South East allowance per annum, plus a generous benefits package. Based in Culham, Oxfordshire. Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week).

As Operational Communications Technician, youβll play a key role in keeping our officers in constant contact.
Responsibilities
- Support the Operational Communications Team to ensure front-line officers can communicate with each other day-to-day, and with other emergency services in the event of an incident.
- Assist in delivering an intelligent delivery function and add resilience to core activities.
- Plan, implement, and deliver specific work streams and projects; resolve faults and issues relating to devices fitted within vehicles or fixed positions, and to site-specific and specialist kit and equipment.
- Provide planning, support and delivery activities relating to the Operational Communications Team scope of work; adopt and develop best practices such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma and Prince 2 to engage in and drive OC workstreams and projects to a successful conclusion.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience within Radio Engineering (or a related technical field), ideally in an emergency service or similar organisation.
- Knowledge of installing, integrating, and maintaining technical radio or communication systems; based on a relevant degree, an equivalent vocational qualification or relevant work experience.
- Able to capture and document user and technical requirements, with superb communication and team-working skills.
- Willingness to travel to other sites as required and a full UK driving licence (some sites are in remote locations).
- Ability to ensure technology meets strict security requirements and complies with licence terms now and in the future.
