The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is the UK's armed police force dedicated to protecting nuclear material and facilities. We are seeking an experienced commercial professional to lead complex, high-risk procurements and deliver robust commercial strategies across the Operations category.
You will support end-to-end procurement, provide commercial advice, manage suppliers, and help improve commercial policies and contract performance. The Commercial Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of procurements and contracts within CNC, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and achieving value for money.
Skills And Experience
- Degree (2:2+) in Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Business or similar, or equivalent experience/qualification.
- Working towards MCIPS or interest in studying.
- Understanding of public sector procurement and Cabinet Office rules.
- Supplier management experience.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial understanding including budgeting and cost control.
- Experience in contract negotiation and knowledge of procurement legislation.
Working Arrangements
Hybrid working (60%/40%). Role based at Culham until relocation to Harwell in Autumn 2026.
