The Secretary plays a vital role in assisting the Chair and committee to organise the smooth running of Trustee meetings and oversee CAVRA membership.

About CAVRA

CAVRA is a voluntary resilience organisation operating across England and Wales. We are a registered charity (no.1194929) providing backup personnel to emergency services and local authorities. Our volunteers are divided into three sections: Community Emergency Volunteer Unit, National Emergency Resilience Support Unit, and Headquarters.

What We\’re Looking For

Experience in administrative work and/or volunteer/employee management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of trustee meetings and sub-committees.
  • Support the Chair and monitor the implementation of trustee decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with governing documents, legislation, and regulations.
  • Organise meetings, prepare agendas, book rooms, and distribute minutes and papers.
  • Record decisions accurately and follow up on action points.
  • Handle correspondence and draft replies.
  • Administer memberships and oversee reporting requirements.
