About the role

The Service Engineer's primary responsibility is to carry out the work necessary at the customers location to install and service hardware and software used to provide the Civica Cashless solution and to train end users in key aspects of the solution. Working closely with the Engineering Services Manager to ensure that installation and service calls are completed on time and to the required standard.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake site surveys / pre-installation checks, to ensure the installation order contains all necessary components and any data cabling or power requirements required.
  • Advise the customer on the optimal positioning of components.
  • Create a written report of the findings including location photographs and submit to the project team within the agreed timeframe.
  • Undertake site installation ensuring equipment is commissioned to the prescribed standard.
  • Obtain customer signoff of the completed installation.
  • Complete customer training days educating the end users of the equipment in the correct use of the solution.
  • Delivery registration days assisting the school to register all pupils to the Civica Cashless solution.
  • Deliver live days, supporting the school during the first services on go live day, ensuring a resolution is found for issues encountered.
  • Attend implementation meetings with the customer to explain the implementation process and resolve any raised issues.
  • Successfully undertake service calls ensuring that issues are resolved successfully or that follow up arrangements are in place if additional parts or an additional site visit is required.
  • Ensure faulty parts are returned to the production team for repair.
  • Provide support to Production, Projects and Support as required to ensure the progress and resolution of customer issues.

About you

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.
  • Ability to travel and work out of hours as this is a field-based role with travel across the UK, heavily in the South East area.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
