This role combines line management for a team of Product Managers as well as individual‑contributor responsibilities (product strategy and product management) for key products within Civica.
As Senior Product Manager you will be responsible for defining the strategic vision for your team, driven by Civica’s overall vision, and for creating product roadmaps that align with our strategic goals. You will lead by example and have hands‑on execution of the product strategy across a suite of products, ensuring that product development practices and roadmaps are aligned with our global vision to maximise productivity and growth.
You will lead a team of product managers, collaborating with product design, user research, engineering and commercial teams. Overseeing lifecycle management of your portfolio of products, you’ll ensure alignment with the company’s mission of becoming a global GovTech champion, while delivering critical products and services to citizens worldwide.
The successful candidate will have line‑management responsibility for their teams, including performance reviews, regular check‑ins, and ensuring team members reach their maximum potential.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends and business goals to define and refine the product roadmap and strategy.
- Work closely with stakeholders—including engineering, design, marketing, commercial and customer‑success teams—to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Conduct customer interviews, surveys and market research to gather feedback and insights that inform product decisions.
- Define and prioritise product requirements to guide the engineering process.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of product features and releases.
- Plan and execute successful product launches in collaboration with the Product Marketing team, including developing launch plans, positioning and messaging.
- Analyse data and metrics to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed data‑driven product decisions.
- Lead and mentor product managers with best practices, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise.
- Champion a strong culture of knowledge sharing and product‑decision and design documentation.
Requirements
- Strong product‑management skills, with extensive experience working in a senior product role leading multiple products and product teams.
- Proven track record of developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth.
- Demonstrable experience in leading high‑performing cross‑functional teams to achieve individual and team goals.
- Experience working in software or product‑led organisations, launching and growing multiple products.
- Ability to prioritise features, requirements and tasks based on customer needs, business goals and technical feasibility.
- Driving force behind building and executing a product roadmap and strategy that aligns with customer needs and company goals.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer‑success.
- Flexible to adapt to changing market conditions, customer needs and business priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills to overcome technical, business and customer challenges.
- Experience crafting compelling stories to communicate product vision, value and benefits to various stakeholders at different levels.
