We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical systems across various projects. The role requires technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to collaborate with wider design teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
Key elements of the job:
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments to optimize project outcomes.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations, such as IEEE, NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
- Perform site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and sustainable design.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Actively working towards Incorporated or Chartered Status.
- Participation in and presentation at Lunch and Learns and other CPD opportunities.
- Maintaining a record of your CPD and a Development Action Plan.
- Demonstrating behaviour consistent with Civic's Values and contributing to the progress of the Practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including design and project management.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or Revit.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and handle complex projects.
