Job Purpose
The Wellbeing & Resilience Coach will support children, young people, and families within school settings to improve their emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence, and engagement with education and future opportunities. Working collaboratively with schools, pupils, parents/carers, and partner agencies, the post holder will provide early intervention and preventative support to address barriers impacting wellbeing, personal development, and progression.
Using a person-centred and strengths-based approach, the role will help individuals develop coping strategies, build resilience, improve self-esteem, and access appropriate support services where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Wellbeing Support
- Provide one-to-one and group-based wellbeing and resilience coaching sessions.
- Support pupils to identify challenges affecting their wellbeing and develop practical strategies to overcome them.
- Promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing through preventative and early intervention approaches.
- Encourage confidence, motivation, self-esteem, and personal development.
- Programme Delivery
- Design and deliver workshops, activities, and wellbeing programmes within schools.
- Facilitate sessions focused on resilience, emotional regulation, confidence building, stress management, and positive mental health.
- Develop resources and activities tailored to the needs of young people.
- Assessment and Planning
- Complete strengths-based assessments and create individual action plans.
- Monitor progress, review outcomes, and adapt support plans where necessary.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate reporting procedures.
- Partnership Working
- Build effective relationships with schools, families, community organisations, and external support services.
- Signpost and refer individuals to specialist services where additional support is required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure coordinated support for participants.
- Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with data protection legislation.
- Produce reports and monitoring information as required.
- Undertake risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
- Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and organisational policies.
Experience Required
- Essential
- Experience working with children, young people, families, or vulnerable individuals in educational, community, voluntary, or public sector settings.
- Experience providing wellbeing, mentoring, coaching, or support services.
- Experience delivering workshops, training sessions, or group activities.
- Experience supporting individuals facing barriers such as poor mental health, low confidence, social disadvantage, or disengagement.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and working with confidential information.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and partner organisations.

Additional Information
- Council Experience is mandatory.
- Hours: 37 hours per week.
- Essential: Enhanced DBS.
- Rate: Limited/Umbrella rate of £21.94 per hour.
- Location: East Parade, Rhyl, Denbighshire, LL18 3AH, United Kingdom.
- Hybrid Working: The successful applicant will be expected to work from Rhyl Library for a minimum of 2 days per week, with the remainder of working arrangements agreed in line with service requirements.
- Travel: Willingness to travel throughout Denbighshire to support schools, partners, and community-based activities as required.
- Flexibility: Occasional evening and weekend working may be required to meet service needs and deliver programmes.
- We operate on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
