  • The HR Support Officer position is a 2-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £18.42 per hour under an umbrella arrangement.

This role is crucial for delivering precise and prompt administrative support across the Human Resources department.

As the initial point of contact for HR and payroll inquiries, the HR Support Officer will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, payroll administration, and HR projects.

The role demands a commitment to high-quality customer service and adherence to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries via email, HR systems, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Offer expert advice and guidance on HR policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage inquiries efficiently, ensuring responses are provided within agreed timelines.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to managers, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the entire recruitment administration process.
  • Prepare and post job advertisements.
  • Coordinate applications, shortlisting, and interview scheduling.
  • Handle pre-employment checks, references, and right-to-work documentation.
  • Draft employment contracts and onboarding materials.
  • Assist new employees throughout the onboarding process.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity.

  • Education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience.
