Summary
- The Unqualified Senior Broker is tasked with delivering a high-quality, flexible Placements Service to enhance placement choice, stability, and outcomes for children in care. This role is crucial in ensuring that social workers, foster carers, and children receive efficient support during placement identification. The officer contributes to value-for-money decisions and sources placements that meet the emotional, educational, cultural, and health needs of children. Additionally, the post-holder provides tailored practical support packages to foster carers, young people, and families to maximize placement viability and prevent breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Work proactively within the Placements Team to secure suitable placements for all children, monitoring referral patterns and the use of Independent Fostering Agencies.
- Track all referrals, placement moves, and endings; ensure high-quality management information for service planning.
- Deliver a responsive, efficient referral and placement process in collaboration with the Fostering Service, ensuring childrenâ s views are considered.
Requirements:
Essential Experience
- Experience working with foster carers and supporting the development of placement stability.
- Experience interpreting data from complex databases for service planning and management.
- Experience working independently, prioritising workloads, and meeting deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
- Recognized social work qualification or equivalent childcare-related qualification.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Location: 134 Queens Road (QR2), Southwark, Surrey, SE152HG, United Kingdom
- 2- 3 days remote and 2-3 days office depending on need, 5 days / week total
- Enhanced DBS Check required.
- Bi-weekly payment schedule.
