Summary
- The Advanced Practitioner - Family Safeguarding is a pivotal role within a local authority, responsible for delivering exceptional statutory social work services to children and families. This position involves managing intricate safeguarding cases, conducting expert assessments and interventions, and ensuring the protection of children while fostering positive outcomes. The role is a 3-month contract with a rate of £33.30 per hour under an umbrella arrangement, requiring a commitment of 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Manage a varied and complex caseload involving children, young people, and families in need of safeguarding and statutory intervention.
- Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs, parenting capabilities, and family situations.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review care plans and interventions focused on the child's needs.
- Effectively assess and manage risks, making informed, evidence-based decisions to safeguard children.
- Prepare and present evidence for child protection conferences, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings as necessary.
- Produce high-quality assessments, reports, statements, and court documents within required deadlines.
Requirements:

- Significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
- Experience in conducting safeguarding investigations, assessments, and care planning.
- Proven ability to manage complex child protection, child in need, and court-related cases.
- Degree in Social Work (BA, MA, DipSW or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
- Strong Senior Social Workers with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Enhanced DBS with barred list required.
- Ability to work within a bi-weekly payment schedule
- Significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
