Somerset Council's Finance & Procurement Directorate is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant for a temporary three-month position. This role is ideal for finance professionals with a background in transactional finance, purchase orders, invoice management, and financial administration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting Children's Services by ensuring precise financial processing, addressing queries, maintaining records, and aiding in budget monitoring efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and oversee purchase orders.
  • Handle invoice processing and address supplier inquiries.
  • Keep accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and financial reporting tasks.
  • Serve as a primary contact for finance-related questions from Children's Services.
