- Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader for an 8-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £450/day Umbrella.
The role involves overseeing the mobilisation and early delivery of the Experts at Hand model as part of SEND reform initiatives.
The postholder will collaborate with Education senior leaders, SEND teams, schools, health partners, and the wider local area partnership to establish a high-quality, accessible, and sustainable support model for children and young people with SEND.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, mobilisation, and delivery of the Experts at Hand model, ensuring readiness for implementation.
- Collaborate with senior education leaders, SEND managers, and health partners to support integrated working, co-production, and joint commissioning.
- Establish and embed a multi-disciplinary delivery model, including Educational Psychologists (EPs), Speech and Language Therapists (Sa LTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and specialist teachers.
- Develop clear processes and systems to ensure effective access to support services.
- Promote inclusive practice by building capacity within mainstream educational settings through workforce development and targeted intervention approaches.
- Establish governance frameworks, performance measures, and reporting arrangements to support accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Significant experience working within SEND, education, health, or local authority services.
- Proven experience leading service development, transformation, or change programmes.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across multiple organisations.
- Demonstrated success in delivering strategic initiatives and translating them into operational outcomes.
- Relevant professional qualification in Education, SEND, Health, Social Care, Public Sector Leadership, or a related discipline.
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to SEND or service leadership.
