  • We are seeking a skilled

Housing Officer to join our dynamic Housing Management team on a 10-week contract.

This role is pivotal in providing exceptional tenancy management services, supporting residents in maintaining successful tenancies, and ensuring our communities are safe and thriving.

The position involves managing a specific area, conducting home visits, tenancy audits, welfare checks, and collaborating with internal and external partners to address housing-related issues.

The ideal candidate will possess strong housing management experience, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive approach to community support.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective and customer-focused housing management services.
  • Support residents throughout their tenancy lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to tenancy conditions and address breaches.
  • Provide housing advice and support.
  • Manage complex tenancy-related cases to resolution.
  • Conduct home visits, tenancy audits, and welfare checks.
  • Promote tenancy sustainment and independent living.
  • Identify and support residents with complex needs.
  • Make safeguarding referrals and collaborate with specialist teams.
  • Conduct neighbourhood and estate inspections.
  • Address environmental and estate management issues.
  • Manage Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and nuisance cases.
  • Prepare tenancy enforcement documentation and attend court as needed.
  • Conduct pre-void inspections and property viewings.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners and attend meetings.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance within homes.
  • Support income collection and assist residents with financial difficulties.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Housing Officer or Housing Management role.
  • Experience managing tenancy-related issues and delivering housing services.
  • Knowledge of housing management legislation and tenancy enforcement.
  • Experience with home visits, tenancy audits, and welfare checks.
  • Ability to work with vulnerable residents and make safeguarding referrals.
  • Strong customer service and case management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse workload.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle, or efficient travel capability.

Desirable Requirements

  • Housing qualification or willingness to pursue one.
  • Experience in Housing Association or Social Housing.
  • Experience attending court and preparing enforcement documentation.
  • Experience managing ASB cases.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, tenancy fraud, and neighbourhood management.
  • Working Environment
  • Hybrid working arrangement with mandatory 2 days per week office-based.
  • Remaining time split between home working and estate/resident visits.
  • Regular travel across neighbourhoods and housing schemes.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
