3 months contract with a local authority Umbrella - Β£20.96 per hour - Umbrella

Job Purpose

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, security, maintenance, and operational effectiveness of the nursery premises. You will ensure that the site is safe, secure, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements, supporting staff, children, and visitors by maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the site and school premises.
  • Ensure the security of buildings, grounds, and facilities.
  • Carry out routine inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance works, and contractor activities.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and presentation of the premises.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Undertake minor repairs, maintenance, and caretaking duties as required.
  • Manage site opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance, inspections, and health and safety checks.
  • Support fire safety procedures, emergency evacuations, and security arrangements.
  • Monitor stock levels and arrange ordering of site-related supplies.
  • Liaise with staff, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are safe, maintained, and fit for purpose.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working as a Site Manager, Caretaker, Premises Officer, Facilities Officer, or similar role.
  • Experience managing building maintenance and site operations.
  • Experience carrying out health and safety inspections and checks.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance works.
  • Experience maintaining records and compliance documentation.
  • Experience working within schools, nurseries, educational settings, or public sector environments is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Good standard of general education.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices.

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Location: 139 Park Lane, London, N17 0HB.
  • DBS Summary Form required.
  • We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
