Summary
- The Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support, focusing on Special Educational Needs (SEN) matters. This role involves assisting with case preparation, legal documentation, and supporting solicitors in delivering high-quality legal services to clients. The position offers flexible hybrid/remote working options while ensuring effective collaboration with the wider legal team.
Responsibilities
- Assist solicitors with the preparation and management of SEN-related cases.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and case files.
- Conduct legal research relating to education law and SEN legislation.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, schools, and other stakeholders as required.
- Support case progression by managing deadlines, documentation, and evidence gathering.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Attend meetings, hearings, and tribunals where necessary (virtually or in person).
- Provide administrative support including file management, document collation, and scheduling.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal or within a legal support role.
- Exposure to education law or Special Educational Needs (SEN) cases is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting case preparation and handling legal documentation.
- Familiarity with legal processes, tribunals, and client interaction.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent qualification preferred.
- LPC/SQE part-completion or legal training is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant certifications or training in education law/SEN (desirable).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Hybrid/remote working available.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
