This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority aimed at supporting the delivery of a high-performing, compliant, and value-driven procurement service across the Council. The role involves assisting in managing procurement activities, including Above Threshold procurements, while ensuring adherence to legislation and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of strategic and Above Threshold procurements from initiation to contract award.
  • Assist in developing and implementing contracts that deliver service improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and Contract Standing Orders.
  • Provide advice and guidance to commissioners on procurement and contract management issues.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Support a business partnering approach to procurement delivery.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working in procurement, contract management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting or delivering procurement exercises, ideally within the public sector.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to deliver projects or services.
  • Experience using e-procurement or e-tendering systems.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Relevant qualification in procurement, business, or related discipline (desirable).
  • Working towards or holding CIPS qualification (desirable).

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 15 hours per week.
  • Location: Floor 4, Time Square, RG12 1JD.
  • We operate on a bi-weekly schedule.
