6-Month Contract Role with a Local Authority
Summary
- The role will lead the delivery of the Families First Partnership reform programme, ensuring successful planning, coordination, and implementation of large-scale transformation initiatives. The postholder will drive service redesign aligned with reform principles, improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. This role requires a highly experienced project manager (PRINCE2 qualified or equivalent) with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and transformation programmes within a multi-agency or public sector environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Families First Partnership reform programme, ensuring objectives, milestones, and outcomes are achieved.
- Develop, manage, and monitor detailed project plans, risk registers, and delivery frameworks in line with PRINCE2 (or equivalent) methodologies.
- Coordinate stakeholders across multiple agencies (e.g., local authorities, health, education, third sector) to ensure collaborative delivery.
- Support and drive the redesign of services to align with Families First principles, ensuring services are integrated, preventative, and outcome-focused.
- Manage programme governance, reporting progress to senior leadership and steering groups, and ensuring compliance with organisational frameworks.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies and ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Significant experience delivering large-scale projects or transformation programmes, ideally within childrenâ s services, social care, or public sector reform.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-agency initiatives from inception to completion.
- Experience of service redesign, transformation, or change programmes.
Essential Qualifications Required
- PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (essential) or equivalent project management qualification (e.g., APM, MSP, PMP).
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience (desirable).
- Evidence of continuous professional development in project/programme management or service transformation.

- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Location: Ballard House, West Hoe Road, West Hoe, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 3BJ, United Kingdom.
- Work pattern: 3 days in the office & 2 days remote.
- Enhanced DBS required.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
