Job Purpose
The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for carrying out vehicle maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a range of light vehicles.
  • Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs efficiently.
  • Conduct inspections and identify vehicle defects and required remedial work.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Support MOT preparation activities and carry out MOT testing where qualified.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure vehicles are returned to service promptly.
  • Ensure workshop equipment and work areas are maintained to a safe and professional standard.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service and technical workmanship.

Requirements

  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • IMI Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent (City & Guilds minimum requirement).
  • Proven experience within vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of vehicle Health & Safety procedures and workshop best practices.
  • MOT Tester Licence (Class 4, 5 & 7) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
