This temporary 5-month contract role is crucial for ensuring facilities compliance across operational sites in Nottingham. The Facilities Compliance Officer will conduct statutory and scheduled inspections, identify risks, and address non-compliance issues. The role involves maintaining health, safety, and compliance standards, working closely with facilities, maintenance, and property teams to ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements related to building safety and facilities management.
Responsibilities
- Compliance Inspections: Conduct scheduled inspections for Legionella, asbestos management, fire safety systems, emergency escape routes, and M&E plant and equipment. Ensure inspections are completed accurately and timely, recording findings and maintaining detailed compliance records.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Identify non-compliance issues and raise remedial actions through CAFM systems. Monitor outstanding actions and support their timely resolution, escalating significant concerns to management.
- Health & Safety: Take immediate action if life safety systems are compromised. Support statutory compliance with health and safety legislation and promote safe working practices.
- CAFM & Systems Administration: Update and maintain compliance records within the CAFM system. Produce reports, track compliance performance, and ensure audit trails are maintained.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with contractors, facilities teams, and operational managers. Communicate inspection findings and required actions clearly, providing professional support across the organization.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics, Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable: Qualifications in Facilities Management, Health & Safety, Compliance, or Property-related fields.
- Knowledge: Essential: Understanding of facilities compliance requirements and health and safety responsibilities. Desirable: Knowledge of Legionella, Asbestos, Fire Safety, and M&E compliance.
- Experience: Essential: Experience in compliance inspections and using Microsoft Word and Excel. Desirable: Experience with CAFM systems and previous public sector experience.
- Essential: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to identify risks, and strong IT skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize workloads, and manage multiple tasks.
This is a 5-month temporary contract with an immediate start available. Early morning starts are required. Experience using CAFM systems is highly desirable.
