Summary

  • This role is a 7-8 month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £23.74 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The primary purpose is to provide professional governance and administrative support to the Board and Committees. The position is crucial for ensuring effective governance arrangements, regulatory compliance, and the smooth operation of all governance activities. The postholder will coordinate the full governance cycle, maintain statutory records, support Board member development, and serve as a key point of contact for Board Members, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage Board and Committee meetings, including planning schedules, preparing agendas, reports, and meeting packs.
  • Attend Board and Committee meetings, produce accurate minutes, record decisions, and monitor actions through to completion.
  • Maintain governance calendars and ensure all meetings are effectively organised and administered.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Board Members and governance-related enquiries.
  • Maintain governance records, Board membership details, declarations of interest, registers, and statutory documentation.
  • Support statutory compliance requirements, including Companies House filings and updates.
  • Coordinate Annual General Meetings (AGMs), Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs), and other governance events.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting Boards, Committees, Executive Teams, or governance functions.
  • Experience organising meetings, preparing agendas, coordinating papers, and taking formal minutes.
  • Experience maintaining governance records, registers, and tracking actions.
  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Strong administrative and governance support background.
Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (30 hours considered over 4 days)
  • Location: Hybrid working â Westbridge office, Northampton NN5 5JW (up to 3 days on site)
  • Contract: Fixed term assignment until 31st March 2027
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Interview Process: Informal Teams discussion followed by a formal face-to-face interview
  • Payment Schedule: Bi-weekly
