The Maintenance Surveyor is a critical role within the local authority, responsible for delivering a high-quality and responsive surveying service across Southern Housing's property portfolio. This position ensures that the housing stock is maintained to the highest standards, with repairs completed efficiently and cost-effectively. The role also ensures compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage responsive repair cases from initial inspection through to completion.
- Conduct pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-inspections to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Monitor contractor performance and take corrective action when standards or timescales are not met.
- Report progress, issues, and recommendations to the Contract Manager regularly.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance works are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with agreed specifications.
Essential Experience:
- Experience as a Building Surveyor, Maintenance Surveyor, or Property Surveyor within a housing, maintenance, or property environment.
- Experience conducting pre-inspections, mid-term inspections, and post-inspections of repair works.
- Experience diagnosing building defects and recommending effective remedial solutions.
- Experience managing responsive repairs and maintenance programmes.
- Experience monitoring contractor performance and quality assurance.
Essential Qualifications:
- HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property Maintenance, or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
