6 months contract with a Local Authority

Job Summary:

  • Advanced Practitioner – Children's Social Care (G10) required for Lincolnshire County Council on a 26-week temporary contract (maternity cover).
  • This role sits within Children's Services and focuses on safeguarding, assessment, and statutory case management under CIN, CP, and legal frameworks.
  • The post operates on a three-week duty rota (one week on duty office-based, two weeks hybrid). The successful candidate will manage complex cases, complete Child and Family Assessments, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure children are safeguarded effectively.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments where safeguarding concerns have been raised
  • Manage and progress cases within Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) frameworks
  • Lead and contribute to strategy discussions, core groups, and child protection conferences
  • Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to ensure effective safeguarding planning
  • Undertake enquiries and direct work with families to ensure children are cared for safely
  • Manage cases within both Private and Public Law proceedings
  • Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court statements
  • Carry a caseload including complex and high-risk cases
  • Participate in a three-week duty rota (one week on duty office-based; two weeks off duty hybrid)
  • Maintain accurate case recording in line with statutory requirements and local authority standards

Skills/Experience:

  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment experience.
  • Experience managing CIN and CP plans.
  • Experience of Private and Public Law proceedings.
  • Ability to complete comprehensive Child and Family Assessments.
  • Confident in court work and report writing.
  • Strong multi-agency working skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage a busy and demanding caseload.

  • The closing date: 06/03/
  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Β£40.00 per hour Limited/Umbrella.
  • Office Requirement: One week in three fully office-based (duty week), two weeks hybrid.
